The forwarded material will explain what happened. Originally we had a rough budget for Rs 7,33,900 (to be paid by us). It was rough because at the time we were considering the project, no proper technical help was used. That was in March. Later after consulting Engineer Gopal Meher a revised estimate for dams was prepared. Unfortunately, the amount for Chauldia dam became Rs 2,11,680 instead of Rs 1,09,800. In order to be close to the earlier budget, they decided to construct only two dams in Khandeichhapar. This was the major change. The revised budget required Rs 7,81,094 from us. So far, we have paid Rs 4,40,000. In the budget analysis report, they have spent Rs 4,21,458. The balance has to be sent to them. Pradip Pradhan reports that there is enough water and the farmers are ready for cultivation at the beginning of November. For irrigation three pumps have to be supplied. Land leveling work has to continue and unfinished part of dam construction has to be complete. The report needs further scrutiny and site visits are necessary.
